At 18:
GZA's Promise for Tomorrow
By Anil Bhattacharya
Upon the twenty-fifth of May,
A night for GZA to hold sway.
Eighteen years had come to pass,
Her youth's final, fleeting glass.
Her graduation, a new dawn,
Adulthood's threshold, now drawn.
The family gathered, a joyful throng,
Where hopes and proudest wishes belong.
In her eyes, a vibrant flame,
Aspirations whispered out her name.
I asked her then, with gentle tone,
"What thoughts now make your spirit known?"
With voice a whisper, hushed and deep,
A solemn promise she would keep,
She spoke of a world, a lofty quest,
To be admired, to stand the test.
"To be someone loved by all," she yearned,
"Where only kindness is returned.
A community where fears subside,
And love and grace alone reside."
The stage was dressed in grandest flair,
A spectacle beyond compare.
Like a wedding of a cherished heir,
The promise of a life so fair.
It was a night held in the heart,
A beautiful, poetic work of art.
A night to remember, a truth so clear,
As GZA stepped into her brightest year.
